This Time I Like a Big But

Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am in distress;
my eyes grow weak with sorrow,
my soul and my body with grief.
My life is consumed by anguish and my years with groaning;
my strength fails because of my affliction,
and my bones grow weak.
Because of all my enemies,
I am the utter contempt of my neighbors;
I am a dread to my friends-
those who see me on the street flee from me.
I am forgotten by them as though I were dead;
I have become like broken pottery.
For I hear the slander of many;
there is terror on every side;
they conspire against me and plot to take my life.

But I trust in you, O LORD;
I say, You are my God."

Psalm 31:9-14

What a sad psalm, but I bet a lot of people feel that way. I'm coming back later to listen to your video.
Your title reminded me of something my pastor likes to say. He tells us to stay on the right side of the but.
Like, "I'm scared, BUT my God has not given me a spirit of fear" Instead of "I know God is supposed to help me, but I'm scared."
Just a little change in words to change the focus of the sentence. :-) Can't wait to hear what you have to say.

Thank you Karen. You always seem to speak to my heart. I so appreciate the time and effort you take to make these liitle videos for us to watch. The impact seems to be a bit more when you are speaking the words to us.
Btw, I love your written words as well! :)

This is exactly what I was looking for.
I have a good friend who is going through physical and mental problems. I give her an index card every few days with a Bible reading on it.
I really believe this is EXACTLY what she needs to hear.
Thank You!

Nice way of connecting this with a personal story. God is using you Karen with my "but." Thank you for being obedient to Him!
