This Week's WORD

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born.

Luke 2:6

When God caused Mary to become pregnant with Jesus, do you think He was aware of the fact that when the time came for the baby to be born Mary would be far away from home?
Do you think He knew there would be no room in the inn?
Have you ever wondered if God should have timed things better for Jesus' birth?
Ever wondered if He had His wires crossed in the timing of your circumstance?

I am certain God knew exactly what He was doing when He planned the timing of Jesus' birth. He worked out the details perfectly. And He's working perfectly in your life, too.

I'll be presenting a message based upon this scripture at a women's advent program this coming Sunday night. Will be including the gospel and an invitation for women to give their lives to Jesus. Would appreciate your prayers!

Edie has announced the winner of yesterday's giveaway - and explained the "real" element for this layout. Check out the details here.

Have a great weekend. I'll see you back here Monday.

you know, i never doubted that God's timing for Jesus was off at all. i have always had faith that he did want he wanted and WHEN he wanted. why then, do i doubt that in my own life?
your look is beautiful and the more i look at your blog, the more i like it.
off to get ready for a 3 year old birthday party!

Hey Gianna!
It's a lot easier to trust that God works things out perfectly in other lives than in our own, isn't it?
The moment I start going down that road (He did it perfectly for them, but I'm not sure He knows what He's doing in my situation...) I have to remind myself of the Truth: God doesn't change. He is Lord of my circumstance, too!
Hope you have fun at the party!

Will be praying for you on Sunday night and for the women that hear you, that they'll hear HIM!
Thanks for such encouraging words this week!

You know, just before I read your post, I finished a devotional about Elizabeth (Lk 1:21-25), where Elizabeth said, "So has the Lord done for me at a time when he has seen fit to take away my disgrace before others".

That line totally jumped off the page for me, "...when HE has seen fit" & reminded me that everything IS in His time...oh the faith Elizabeth had!

Slowly but surely, I am learning to fully trust Him always...& lately, He has NOT let me down!! I've seen His hand everywhere these days! And I believe the more I trust, the more I see Him everywhere! ;)

Have a wonderful weekend!!
Hugs!!
Patricia

O Mom - Thanks so much for praying Sunday. I just want to be His instrument!

Patricia - "when He has seen fit" Yes! For the faith to trust that He knows what's best.
So thankful for His patience with us!

Like you said, it's so much easier to trust that God is working in someone else's life than in our own sometimes. But all throughout the bible He gives us example after example of His hand in the lives of His people even when it wasn't visible. He never failed one of them.

I need those reminders continuously.

I am praying for you now that God will speak through you.

Love you!

You have my prayers Karen. God be with you and guide the words in your heart so that they may touch all those in need of hearing them, the same way they touch me. Have a beautiful, blessed weekend!

Edie - I need those reminders, too. That's one of the reasons I like to carry scripture in my pocket - a constant reminder of TRUTH!
Thanks for praying.

Angie - Thank you for your prayers and your kind words. I hope your weekend is a wonderful one, too!

Sounds like a GREAT message for Sunday night...have fun with those women...and know you are going with Him!

Thanks, Nichole.
I do know I am going with Him. That's what's so amazing to think about - HE knows each woman who will be there, and what her needs are. And He can use the words that come out of my mouth to speak individually to each woman.
God is amazing, and I am so thrilled to serve Him!

I pray all went well sweet sister. I know God was there with a plan for each woman present and that He too gave you all your needed to accomplish whatever He was calling you to do. His ways are not our ways though are they? We would never have planned the events of Jesus' birth as the Lord did. A stable? Can you imagine the filth, the germs? Traveling on a donkey at term? And we complain about all the comforts we endure when THAT pregnant. LOL! Oh...God is amazing! Hugs!

Thanks, Lisa. You are a blessing to me and I appreciate your faithful prayer support.

Leslie - You're making me giggle. I can hear Mary now - Joseph! Slow down! I can't take anymore of this trotting!
Yeah, we don't have much to complain about, do we?
