But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the
clans of Judah,
our of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.
Micah 5:2
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:10-11
Last Sunday I heard a sermon in church which has stayed with me and given me hope all week long. The speaker took is through many, many Old Testament prophecies and showed us the New Testament fulfillment in Jesus. He (the speaker) reminded us that the Old Testament was written over a period of 1,500 years, by 25 different authors, yet every prophecy was fulfilled without contradiction and without error.
Only God could coordinate something like that!
And he reminded us - if God can manage the fulfillment of those prophecies over the course of 1,500 years and through 25 different authors, He can surely handle the details in our lives. Amen?
I pray today you find yourself trusting God more than you ever have before. He loves you so much. He sees what you cannot, and He will care for you in your circumstance.
I'll be taking a break from blogging until Monday, January 4, 2010.
Please enjoy celebrating Jesus with your family this Christmas.
Love them.
Love HIM.
Remember His amazing love for you!
May the peace of Christ rest upon you, and may you overflow with the joy of His Spirit. Today, and until we meet again.

So thankful God never needs to take a break. *peaceful sigh*

Angie - And I'll miss you, too. But, yes, I'll be checking in on FB!
May God bless your Christmas celebration and bring joy to you and your family.
Our pastor discussed the prophesies today and last Sunday as well. He pointed out how, when you do the math from the book of Daniel, there was only a 37 year time frame when the Messiah could come.
I was thinking today about how God chooses the smallest and the weakest, and sets up the circumstances so that the outcome of the events so that it could only be credited to Him. He really is amazing.
Have a very blessed Christmas and enjoy your time off.
Love you!
Yes, Edie. God has a way of making things clearly point to Himself.
I am nearing the end of Ezekiel right now and am planning to go back through and count how many times it says "these things" are happening so that "they" may know HE is the LORD.
God wants to be known, and He does so many things in order for us to know Him...LORD, please give us eyes to see!
Merry Christmas sister! Have a blessed Christmas!
Thanks, Leslie. Merry Christmas to you, too!
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas

Your blog is looking awesome, your life in God amazing. Sorry it's been so long since I popped in.
Thanks, Mike.
Thank you, Karen. I am so very glad you popped in!
Yes! When I came to understand the unique and singular quality of Jesus, one of the first things He kindly did fo rme, is draw me to His Word, and THEN through His Word. He knew just what I needed and He put me in the path of teaching on just the topic you mention, how the Bible basically confirms itself, and in such a way that ONLY God could be the author, no religion, no group, no family. Only God. The wonder of it is combined with a steadfast unshakable confidence in Him, and the authenticity of His Word to us.
I pray your Christmas was rejuvenating and that this New Year will be glorious for you and your family!
Maria
Maria - "He knew just what I needed..." Yes! God is so good like that. So we have steadfast unshakable confidence. Amen!
Happy New Year to you, my friend!
Just checking back to wish you a happy New Year.
