At Which Point I Realized, God Just Touched Me Through My Daughter

I sat on the couch, not wanting to move. Tears were welling in my eyes - partly for the pain I was experiencing, but more because I was so discouraged that the pain was still lingering.
I did something to my back last week and went through some serious pain. It looked like things were getting better and then, well, I started downhill again.
So there I was, sitting on the couch after our family prayer time. The boys had already gone to their rooms and it was just Elizabeth and I in the living room. She looked at me and asked, "Mommy, are you OK?" (I love that - at 13 - she still calls me 'Mommy.') I nodded, but my tears started falling and Elizabeth knew I was lying.
She said, "You're back still hurts?"
I nodded.
"And you're discouraged because you thought it was getting better?"
I nodded again.
Then she got up off the floor and came to sit next to me. Elizabeth put her arms around me and I rested my head on her shoulder. I let the tears flow freely and realized in the moment, God knew.
He knew all about my pain.
He knew my sadness.
He knew I needed to be held and comforted by Him in that very moment.

And He used my daughter to do it.

Aaawh. How precious. So sorry about your back. I can totally sympathize. Lots of fruits and veggies and juicing to decrease inflammation. With degenerative disc disease and a cage in my back it is the only way I live pain free every day. Love you girlfriend. Your daughter sounds precious! Jesus I ask for Your touch upon my friend's back. Please bring healing. I know you see her. I know You remember she is dust. Please restore her. Amen.

Lord, please touch Karen's back and bring healing to it. Give her joy in the midst of this trial and help her to see You hand all over it. Show her a special portion of your love today, Jesus.

Amen.

So sweet. Yes, God is Great. He knows us and knows our needs and He WILL provide if we let Him.

I hope your back is feeling better very soon. I will keep you in my prayers.

13? Wow, she has much compassion, I mean a genuine one at that! But it's no secret that God uses everyone!

The beauty of this...the scene of your daugther comforting you is so amazing...thank you Karen for this is mommy moments at their finest, best and greatest. You have laid a most amazing foundation for your children to know they are loved by their Creator and then to know how to share it! Beautiful!

How are you feeling today?

That is so lovely, Karen. I teared up reading it because God also touches me through my children when I am discouraged and down. And I am also touched when I read your blog. It is a blessing that I found it. Thank you.
