This Week's WORD

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

John 14:1

I sat down to read my Bible, but first I prayed. I laid out some heavy concerns that were on my heart. Told God I knew He could handle them, but was honest with Him about my fears.
Then I looked at what was on my schedule to read for the day, opened my Bible, and discovered God was waiting in John 14:1 with encouragement for me.

Are you troubled about something today? Take it to the LORD in prayer. He can handle it!

See you back here Monday.

As I have been reading in Isaiah and trying to understand what God is saying there, I sometimes forget that there are some things in the Bible we don't have to "figure out." thanks for the reminder. It kind of goes along with the prayer concern I posted yesterday.

Angie - HE knows what you need!
I hope the kids get well - faster than they got sick. Hang in there, friend!

Awesome. My encouragement today came from the story of David, told in Max Lucado's, Facing Your Giants. I'm trying to face a giant, so I know exactly what you're talking about here.

Happy weekend!

My heart is heavy...oh so heavy for a sweet blogging friend...and her heart is devastated. Please pray for Debra.

Heidi - Indeed, as we face our giants, we need to trust in God. He will defeat them for us!

Leslie - Let's pray.
Father in heaven, I don't know what has devestated Debra's heart. But I know You know. I know You care. And I know You are big enough to comfort her even in this painful moment. So I am asking You, God, to embrace Derba today. Please let her know the comfort of Your presence. Speak tenderly to her heart and assure her that You are going to work everything out. Remind her that Your purposes are perfect, even when we can't understand them.
Yes, LORD, please show Yourself powerful to Debra today by filling her with peace.
I'm asking it in the wonderful, powerful, beautiful, matchless Name of JESUS.
Amen and amen!

Yes, my spirit is troubled today. We have a great deal of loose ends in our lives right now, and I'm more than ready for God to tie some of them up.

Still trusting and believing God for answers...

Elaine - I understand.
Wish I didn't. But I do.
It's a good thing we can trust God even when things don't make sense.
Love you!
