Thanks so much for the devotion Karen! It is such a good reminder to get me to Remember and reflect on how God has showed up in my life. It is a good habit to get into to be Thankful for God's blessings in our lives. My Grandma always told me, "There is always something to be thankful for."***Chera
Chera - I have learned that giving thanks changes my heart. Remembering God's faithfulness and goodness - and giving thanks for it - is a very peaceful way to live! ***Your grandma was a wise woman.***
When I'm focusing on God in my life and grateful, thankful, for His blessings, I too feel His peace. As we do these acts we are living in a state of worship and praise. Do you notice though how tough it is to get our minds/thoughts focused on His goodness? As the daily worldly stuff surrounds us, it drowns out God, if we aren't careful, we drown him out from our lives too.
Thanks for your complement on my Grandma, you are right she was very wise. I looked up to her alot, she taught me so much about life. She lived her life in a constant gratefulness and thankfulness no matter what she was going through. She was one strong lady. I miss her very much.***chera
Chera - Oh, yes. It is entirely too easy to let the stuff of this world distract us from the stuff of God. One of my "go to" songs is Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow stangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace. Often need that perspective check. Your grandma sounds like a gift from God! :)
I used to call Grandma--my Amazing Grandma, because she was such a big role model in my life. We had a very special relationship, and I believe she was a gift from God to me for so many reasons. I miss her everyday. One day I believe I will meet her at the gates of Heaven, and I really can't wait to hug her and be with her again.***chera
