Snapshot

Recently Holy Mama created a post she called Snapshot, which I thought was a lot of fun. So, I decided to put my own snapshot of what's going on in my head here. Care to join me?

Reading: Fair is the Rose, by Liz Curtis Higgs
Song stuck in my head: Happy, by Aisha Woods
Verse that spoke to me today: "Take a guard," Pilate answered. "Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how." Matthew 27:65 No matter what we do, we can't prevent God from performing a resurrection!
Planning: a spring break trip to Washington, D.C.
Wishing: Friday would get here soon, cuz I can't wait for Kathy Troccoli to come and lead our women's conference at church.
Considering: when and how to have "the talk" with my daughter (She just started wearing a training bra...)
Thankful: that God loves me in spite of who I am and what I do.
Heart's desire: to follow the path God creates for me, not to make my own.
Life goal: to be a reflection of Jesus to my children.
Challenge: Pick at least 3 of the above categories and leave your answer in the comments!

Have a great day!

reading: when heaven invades earth by bill johnson

verse that spoke to me today: psalm 110 (verse 2 i think) "Rule, then, in the midst of your foes." spoken prophetically from the Father to the Son. oh, how Jesus did just that! i can do it, too, as I live in Jesus' victory!
planning: a baby shower for my sister in law
wishing: i had more time to myself each day
considering: if i should throw a load of laundrey in
thankful: that Jesus has taken all shame and condemnation away
heart's desire: to love Him fully and fully receive His love
life goal: to walk into the FULNESS of my destiny in HIM

this was fun, thanks.

Just a thought regarding "the talk"--my eldest daughter (similar developmental stage, perhaps?) found herself in an embarrassing situation at school where everybody knew at least some basics, and she knew nothing. Something came up to discuss, they all laughed about it, and she turned to a sweet girl and said, "What's so funny?" And the girl said, "Well, you know, when your mom and dad love each other...." (and this sweet girl left it at that, for which I could hug her).

We'd been reading through a body book about changes, and the very next entry had info about, "The Talk" stuff.

Then several weeks later, the school brought in a teacher from a Christian group to talk about abstinence, so I was really glad we got that show on the road at home. I hate that they have to know *something* so early, but it's the culture around us....pressuring us....throwing so many images in our faces.

Because I can't stand leaving things out:

Reading: Genesis
Song Stuck in My Head: It Is Well
Verse that spoke to me today: Psalm 91:4
Planning: a family road trip to visit more family
Wishing: it were the beginning of winter, and not the end.
Considering: signing up my baby for swimming lessons
Thankful: that the sun has gone down, and with it the heat index
Heart's desire: To be more.
Life goal: to stop fighting with myself over my weight, and see myself the way Jesus sees me.
