Hi Karen, Just wanted to give you an update on the progress I am making on your book. I am really enjoying it. I have purchased 3 books lately, all from blogs. I purchased yours, Rebecca Ingram Powell's, Season of Change (for middle schoolers, which I have one) and I am reading The Invisible Woman by Nicole Johnson that Edie blogged about.
Of course, being me, I am reading all 3 at once. (not simultaneously!! --thank goodness for dictionary.com) haha.
Anyway, your book still has my attention and believe me that is a HUGE compliment.
I learned something else today while reading it. Your question "Do you think your kids are keeping you from becoming more Christ-like?". Well, contrary to many, I realized that because of my kids I HAVE become more Christ-like. First of all, I had drifted away from going to church before they were born, but when my first was about 2 years old, I realized that he needed to go to church, so that got me back in the church mode. Then there was the Christian Preschool. Also, because I cannot send them to private schools, I have become more apt to look for ways to add Christ to our lives. Also, because I quit my job to stay home with the kids, I started babysitting for a Church Bible Study to earn a few extra dollars. Although I didn't attend the Bible Study (as I was babysitting) I met these wonderful Christian woman and have learned SO much from them. The Bible Study was run by Chatty Kelly and it even brought us closer together.
SO, thanks for making me realize this!

Thanks for the update, ADHD! I am so pleased to know God is speaking to you through my book.
*very, very big grin*

Thanks, too, for the tip about dictionary.com. I have been getting up and actually looking words up in the PAPER dictionary! How wonderful to know I can stay on my, uh, rump and still spell words correctly. LOL

I have to say I'd be a much better wife & mother, if my husband and kids weren't here. LOL!!

Just kidding, but it reminds me of that prayer: "Dear Lord, I haven't lost my temper today, I haven't gossiped, I haven't yelled at anyone, I haven't done anything to hurt anyone's feelings. But I'm about to get out of bed now.....

I think you are right Karen, that our kids do make us more Christ like because were are REFINED through the things we have to be through them...like patient, kind, etc. etc.
