I'm not Paranoid

OK, so I told you about the three grays yesterday. Well, when I went to get my hair done I said something to Clayton about them - just to share a laugh with him. He then informed me "she" has a lot more friends than I realized. Scattered all around the top of my head where I can't see them. Isn't that just lovely.
But Clayton is so great. He went on to tell me about how the highlights are a great way to cover them up and blend them in. He told me we could color all my hair and go back over it with highlights if I wanted to. But suggested simply doing highlights is probably fine right now.
As I was listening to Clayton, inside I was chuckling. I am really not THAT concerned about a few gray hairs!
Though, now that I think about it, since I can't see the top of my head like Clayton did, maybe there are a lot more grays than I'm even imagining. Maybe he was just being polite. Maybe I should be concerned. Maybe I'm just in a state of denial, and I'm not a pup like I think I am. Maybe the next time I get my hair done I should think about coloring, too. I mean, Clayton did say the highlights are probably fine right now. Maybe he meant next time there may be a problem.

Maybe I'm being paranoid.

No, seriously. I'm totally joking. Though I was surprised by the revelation that there are more than three gray hairs on this head of mine, I actually think it's kind of funny. Maybe I ought to start making plans for a sorority. (Did you see Teresa's comment yesterday? She had me laughing for a long time with that one!)
Anyway, now God has something else to do for fun. The Bible says He knows the number of hairs on our head, right? Well, if He's ever bored now He can count the number of gray, brown and caramel hairs on my head. Apparently the numbers will keep changing!

I received an update this morning from my printer. They are on target to have Finding Joy finished by the middle of next week. Yippee!!! Soooooo, I'm thinking of Friday, October 3 as a target date to announce the winner of my Joy give-away. I'll keep you posted! (Pun totally intended.) Be sure to keep checking so you can claim your book when draw your name!

This is funny!! I don't think you have to worry my friend is a stylist and she says highlights are the best way to cover them up.

Three grays? Oh, Honey, I wish that was the case on my head! (I think I started getting grays at age 27 or 28!) Thank goodness for hair color. LOL.

You had 2 gray hairs. They were friends. The told 2 friends, and they told 2 friends, and they told 2 friends, and so on, and so on, and so on....
Oh I forgot, you're probably too young to remember that Herbal Essence commercial.
Happy belated Birthday and watch out because I think "THEY" are on their way!!

I'm not THAT young, ADHD! I do remember that commercial.
As I recall, they also did a more provocative commercial - about an "organic" expereince? Hmmm, that must have been when it became "OK" to push the limits on prime time TV.

I went down the highlighting root/route (!) a few years ago. Never looked back, and I can get away with just getting them re-done about twice a year. I was worried about regrowth/roots but never been a problem - they are quite subtle so not too obvious, but I know they hide the grey/gray!

I think Clayton is just paving the way to make more money. Color plus highlights earns more than color. My stylist says "Pluck until you get a bald spot, then we'll start coloring." Well - no bald spot yet, but I couldn't keep up, so got my carmel highlights last week. I'm sure Clayton would have suggested more, since my grays are clearly CHATTY like me, and have TONS of friends. Ah, life.

I dont know if I have grey. I want to say I will take it in stride...I have never been one to wear makeup and do my hair, but I have a feeling i will freak out and start coloring like a mad woman. So as far as I am concerned, you are taking it like a champ!

Many blessings-
Amanda

I am in the category with Sandy Toes. I really am surprised I have hair. I use lots of conditioner and lots of de-humidifier/gloss to try to keep the damage to a minimum, but I cover my roots every week without fail. I will never know if I am gray!

No grays for me yet, but I'm finding more and more little lines here and there that we're there before on my face. Might have to switch to wearing glasses, instead of contacts....they say it hides more! You're still beautiful, gray or no gray! :)

My mom was almost totally gray before she was 30. My sister is 3 years younger than I am and she has a LOT more gray then I do. I'm doing pretty good! I do like to highlight my hair 'cuz I found after kiddos that my hair seemed to be duller than it was before kiddos, so highlights brighten it up a but, and at least camouflages the gray hairs I do have. The problem with mine is that they (the gray ones) like to stand straight up - they are coarse and wirey and like to be friendly and wave at everyone, alerting EVERYONE to their presence. Oh well, it's just a part of getting older, and I'm not going to be shy about it!
