May I Brag?

OK. I know bragging isn't a godly thing to do. But if I am not bragging about myself, that's acceptable. Isn't it?
Because my daughter brought home some artwork from school last week, and I cannot help but boast about her talent. I only hope these pictures will do the real thing justice.

First, there's this picture. Elizabeth looked at a picture of herself and drew this one. Then shaded it in with little patterns.
Here's a closer view.

I think this one is amazing, too. Elizabeth admits to tracing the original picture. But then she filled it in with all these little dots. And I am so impressed.
Here's a close-up of this one.
And one more bragging point. Because I'm sure you'd love to see a real picture of this talented young lady.
Right?
*grin*
My little artist got all dolled up Friday night for the big Eighth Grade Dance, and I think she looked gorgeous. Do you agree?

So, that's my girl.
And I love her so much!

A mom is supposed to brag! And she is definitely worth bragging over...she is beautiful inside and out. And what talent she has. My favorite is the one of herself!

Patricia - Then you would be Elizabeth's favorite teacher. She LOVES art class.
Can you tell? *grin*

Jennifer - Yes, I think celebrating our kids is a very good thing to do.

Nichole - Thanks for the permission. *wink*
She is indeed beautiful inside and out. What a gift God has given me in her!

WOW!! God has blessed her with talent AND looks!! :o) It's amazing how people see things and I love when I get to experience other's worlds when looking at their art.

She's something else and you have every right to brag!!

I absolutely love the patterned self-portrait she did -- that is SO COOL!! I would love to learn how she did it -- that kind of thing is right up my alley. I think she should frame this and keep it -- you could hang something like this in your living room or family room! Elizabeth looks like a very lovely young lady -- and she is very talented indeed! Brag away, Mom! :)

Debby Ann - I think she is, too!

Sara - Ya know? I do need some artwork on my walls...

It's beautiful!
She's beautiful!
I would be so proud, too!
I once posted about isaiah 6 about how the seraphins talked to each other about God and how that speaking to each other sometimes spoke more truthfully about what we think of God than to him. So that's all you are doing. You're telling us all about Elizabeth because you really mean it!

Yes, it's ok to brag...the artwork is beautiful! She is very talented. And she looks so nice all dressed up for her dance. Daughters are wonderful, aren't they? :)

Karen Hossink said...

Mary - Yes. Daughters are wonderful.
Especially now that she's a teenager and getting all hormonal, and stuff.
Many would think I'm crazy to make that statement, but Elizabeth and I are able to laugh with one another when one of us is teary due to hormones. We understand each other. And it's great. *grin*
