We Don't Have to Follow the Crowd
How many of you know what today is?It's Friday, the 13th. That unlucky day during which some people will avoid traveling, some will refuse to make business transactions, and others will simply stay inside all day! However, the Edgewood residents and I will not be playing that game. Today, we are going to count our blessings. We're going to gather together and talk about the blessings in our lives, and then we're going to write it all down to display for all the world to see. That is, if all the world comes to Edgewood. *wink*Honestly, every month when I put together the Activity Calendar I watch for special days we might want to celebrate in some way. When I saw Friday the 13th coming up, I decided to go against the flow and make good of the day. (Cuz I'm a rebel like that!) I am looking forward to counting my blessings today. Because, you know, We Don't Have to Follow the Crowd Here's the finished product. We had a great time talking and writing!Friday, January 13, 2012

Good for you! I'm headed out the door for shopping and a computer class. Friday the 13th doesn't hold me back from doing whatever I need to do.....I have Jesus walking with me and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!!
Can't wait to see the picture! :o)
I've never bought into superstition or Friday the 13th. And honestly, it makes me sad for the people who do buy into. What a waste of a day to do NOTHING b/c of a number. :o)
Leah - Amen, dear sister!
Jodi - Agreed.
I'd rather do NOTHING b/c I have a sunny day and a sandy beach. *wink*
I LOVE the "Blessings Board"!!
(And I completely forgot that it was Friday, the 13th!)
Well I totally didn't realize it was Friday the 13th but love your idea for a blessing board....I am going to use this idea with my kids...we have been talking about being blessed to be a blessing...and I think this board will be the neatest thing to bring to light the many blessings we all encounter on a daily basis!!! Thanks for sharing...your blog is such a ray of sunshine!
