Stressed-out Mom? Who Me?

I recently came across a list of Caregiver Stress Signs. I know it was meant for people who are caring for an ill family memeber, but as I read it I couldn't help but identify most of the conditions with motherhood.
Here's a sample.

*Having trouble sleeping
Mom, I had a bad dream. Can I sleep with you?

*Easily irritated by almost any situation
What? We're out of toilet paper? Arghhh!

*Crying easily
Hubby: Hi, honey. How was your day?
Me: Please don't make me talk about it. *sniff*

*Tired most or all of the time
Well, yeah!

*Noticing that you interrupt others' conversations
But, Mom! Why can't I go over to/ I told you NO, and I meant it. That's final!

*Speaking rapidly

*Chronically late for appointments or even social activities
What do you mean you can't find your shoes? I told you to put them by the door when you took them off!

So, what do you think? Can you identify with any of these signs of caregiver stress?
I read through the list and chuckled. Yes. I often feel this way.
So glad God is big enough to carry me through moments when I'm a stressed-out caregiver.
Looking forward to the next couple of days with my husband. The kids are going to Grandma's and we're going away.

I'll be back to blogging on Monday. See you then!

I certainly found myself in that list. Caring for aging parents, I am discovering, is very stressful. I can only imagine that moms would definitely find themselves in that list.

Relate? I re-write them everyday?! The one that's driving me nuts lately is "what are we going to do next mom?" Common now, I am NOT your entertainment comittee! grrr.. Alas, I am VERY glad to hear you are getting away. Enjoy!

Sweetie, I remember those days :)

Enjoy your hubby/wife time. May it be peaceful, loving and refreshing.

Praying also that the children and Grandma have a great time together as I'm sure they will. My grand babies come in Sept and I'm SO looking forward to those 3 weeks. I won't be online for sure :)

Lots of love.

Oh, I can relate! LOL, the last time I was here I mentioned my house full of boys...

The latest around here...

My 12 year old was strapped into a dog harness, attached to a rope, hanging over the branch of a tree, with a bicycle tied to the other end of the rope for counter balance...need I say it ended badly.

The rope came untied (which this of course is the 10 year olds fault, who was standing by for the whole thing) and my 12 yr old fell directly on the back of his head.

He's fine, we know this after a trip to the Dr. the next day and a cat scan...LOL...or cry. I choose to LOL :)

Hope you are having a GREAT weekend! Thanks for keeping it real!

"Daddy," my 4-year old asked. "Are you stressed out?"

"A little," I said.

"I guess this is not a good time to tell out about what I did, huh?"

This list also applies to women who are 37-weeks pregnant! That would be me!

Maybe I'll print this list for my might explain some of my recent oh-so-hormonal behavior!
